A music festival, and a food truck rodeo

Blue Tom Records, the University of Memphis’ student-run record label, is hosting a festival featuring prominent local and student acts next month.

The festival – April 6, with music starting at noon at the University of Memphis Memorial Field – is free and open to the public. Headlining the festival are Star & Micey and Fast Planet. The event also will feature a student performance competition.

Meanwhile, The Overton Park Conservancy and the Memphis Food Truck Alliance are presenting a food truck rodeo every Sunday this spring and summer.

Trucks will be on the East Parkway side of the park, and vendors will change regularly. Confirmed for March 24’s rodeo, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., are Fuel Food Truck, Tamale Trolley and Quincy’s BBQ Food Truck.
