Doug carpenter & associates revamps mediums to ‘become current’

Doug carpenter & associates is one of the many firms mentioned in Thursday’s ‘Agency Absorption’ cover story.

The advertising, public relations and consulting agency has more than doubled its staff roster and square footage this year. The firm has grown so much in its less than three years of existence that it made a short end-of-the-year video focused on success. Or maybe it’s a new-year-video – you decide.

“We’ve grown astronomically as a company and we have increased the body of work and the folks we’re doing it for, so we just wanted to make sure that people were aware of that,” said founder and principal Doug Carpenter.

Doug carpenter & associates has also ramped up its website to “become current with who we really are,” Carpenter said.

In addition, the agency recently sent out a boxed set of coasters to its clients, potential clients and influencers containing inspirational and thought-provoking quotes. Carpenter said his creative staff had a direction to make an impression, but not to actually tell what the firm did for a living.

“Nowhere in any of that does it say, ‘call us to create a campaign or to create a brochure or a billboard,’” Carpenter said. “We just wanted to peak people’s interest, communicate to them that we’re interested in talking to people about all sorts of interesting things, and find opportunity in those conversations. They generally yield either a fund development or marketing campaign, but we never know until we start talking.”
