College kids already knew they’ve got it bad.
The Federal Reserve told them so earlier this month, when figures from the central bank showed Americans now have more college debt outstanding than credit cards.
Then, on Monday, two itinerant preachers spent six hours near Mitchell Hall at the University of Memphis scolding students for leading lives of debauchery. One of the preachers bellowed “Sinners, drunkards, fornicators – repent!” according to the school’s newspaper.
When asked the reason for their presence, the preacher’s answer recalled the old line from Willie Sutton, who said he robbed banks because that’s where the money is.
“As a whole, universities are cesspools of sin,” the preacher told the U of M paper.
