Cockadoos Closes Its Doors Downtown

Downtown breakfast and brunch joint Cockadoos has shuttered its doors after two years in business.

Once rumors of the closing circulated on Twitter, the eatery confirmed Tuesday, July 17, “True. Today is the last day : ( ” Cockadoos added later that, “most everyone has found a new home.”

Cockadoos opened in May 2010 in the old Café 61 space at 85 S. Second St. The 3,300-square-foot bay is located in between Automatic Slim’s and Kooky Canuck on Second, across the street from The Peabody Memphis.

The daintily-decorated restaurant, known by many for its coffee bar and late-night offerings, served its last meal shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday.
