Colliers International global giving event taps power of social networks

An eight-day global giving campaign called “Everyone Gives” launched in more than 60 countries around the world on Feb. 22. and runs through Wednesday, Feb. 29.

Participants make a small donation to a charity of their choice through the Everyone Gives website, and then use their social networks to invite friends, co-workers, clients, and family to give. One hundred percent of each donation will go directly to the nonprofit organization a participant selects.

The founding sponsor is Colliers International, one of the world’s largest commercial real estate firms that also has two Memphis offices for tenant and landlord services.

“We’re very excited to be a part of such an amazing charity campaign,” president of Colliers International’s Memphis office Gene Woods said in a release. “In addition to some great national charities, we’ve selected several local groups or local chapters of national organizations that we have enjoyed working with over the years, including the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis, Kairos Prison Ministries, the Midsouth Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We believe it’s very important to give back to our community and this is an excellent and easy way for everyone to give.”

Hundreds of charitable organizations have joined Everyone Gives in advance of the Feb. 22 launch, including Room to Read, United Way, World Vision, Charity: Water, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Those interested in participating in the Everyone Gives campaign can pre-register on the Everyone Gives website, or follow the event on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn for updates.
