Stick-to-your-ribs, slap-yo-momma-Southern food is becoming the nation’s cuisine of choice at a rapid clip. These days, even restaurants in New York City seem to be tackling fried chicken and other dishes historically associated with the South.
That’s why Deep South Magazine created the list, “Where to Eat in the South in 2012,” featuring Acre, The Elegant Farmer and Revival Southern Food Co. Truck among Tennessee’s finest establishments.
All three concepts were launched just last year. And with menu items such as sorghum molasses-infused vodka, house-made pecan butter PB&J sandwiches and Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding, respectively, it’s more than clear why these bona-fide eateries are making national headlines.
