A Memphis company, riding high

This is what it looks like when a market decides you’re a company that, if not completely recession-proof, is at least wearing plenty of Teflon.

The stock of Memphis-based AutoZone Inc., the do-it-yourself auto parts chain, is having a good run.

It’s currently trading just shy of $200 a share.

From July ’08 to July ’09, the stock climbed almost 30 percent. Same for July ’09 to July ’10 – almost 30 percent.
