In the wake of LunaWeb CEO Dave Barger’s death this past weekend, friends who knew him are remembering him as an ebullient fan of technology, known for a warm smile and a broad capacity for generosity.
His impact on the city’s innovation ecosystem, according to Start Co. founder and CEO Eric Mathews, is “immeasurable.” A scroll through his Twitter feed, @davebarger, similarly reveals him to be good-humored and excited by all manner of technology and business innovations and breakthroughs.
He died in a boating accident that involved his family on the Wolf River. Services are scheduled for June 19 at Calvary Church in Cordova.
If one measure of a person’s impact is what’s said about them after they die, Dave indeed lived a life in full. I’ll get out of the way now, and let others do the talking.
