What does Memphis have in common with New Orleans, Las Vegas and New York City? Some of the nation’s finest nightlife scenes, of course.
Memphis is on a roll recently, with numerous national restaurant rankings, Grizz being named the Mascot of the Year, 38104 being dubbed a “fun, affordable” hotspot, and even being selected as one of the nation’s top places for home buying.
Its newest claim to fame: No. 15 on America’s Best Cities for Nightlife.
“The city has plenty of reasons to sing the blues, according to voters: it came in last place for romantic getaways, attractive locals, and even for being green,” Travel + Leisure reports. “But that great music (not to mention a soul-nourishing dinner of top-ranked barbecue) apparently made voters want to drown their sorrows with gusto.”
Nashville also made the list, coming in at No. 8.
