Green Building Tour On Tap for St. Patty’s
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the U.S. Green Building Council and the Sierra Club are hosting a free open house and tour of Memphis’ first and only LEED-certified office building, Triad Centre III.
Highwoods Properties Inc.’s seven-story, 150,000-square-foot office building was built on an existing parking lot with a new three-level garage in the Poplar Corridor.
The public is invited to stop by and get an inside look at the features and benefits of operating and working in a green building, including:

- White Roof
- Proximity to bike lanes, bike storage & showers
- Walkable access to lunch, shopping and public transit
- Energy Management System
- Green Cleaning
- High Efficiency Lighting
- Water Conservation
- Monitored Ventilation
Officials say the tour is one of dozens around the country aimed at making green building a key component of economic and environmental sustainability. It runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and includes refreshments.
