White House Value Drops Too

The wrath of the housing market takes no prisoners. As home values across the nation are taking significant hits, the iconic White House is no exception.

The 132-room mansion – 16 bedrooms and 35 bathrooms on 18 acres in the heart of the nation’s capital – was worth $331.5 million at the top of the housing boom, according to Zillow, the online real estate marketplace.

But the latest “Zestimate” puts the price tag at just $253.1 million – a 23.7 percent decline in value. In the past month alone, the value plunged almost $4 million.

Fortunately, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. isn’t for sale.
