Amro raising money for Memphis Symphony Orchestra

Amro music is holding a reception and silent auction next month to support the financially struggling Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

Memphis without the symphony is “unthinkable,” in the words of Amro vice president Rick Jefferies, a driving force behind the benefit. His company has been a longtime MSO supporter, and the silent auction April 15 at 2918 Poplar Ave. will include art-case instruments decorated by local artists and musicians, along with restaurant gift certificates and more.

The evening also will kick off a week-long sale on special Steinway pianos. Steinway & Sons’ New York headquarters is shipping the instruments for the event, and part of the proceeds will go to the MSO.
