South of Beale to be Featured on Monday’s Diners Drive-Ins and Dives

South of Beale in Downtown Memphis’ South Main Historic Arts District will be in the national spotlight Monday, Oct. 1.

Tonight’s segment of the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives airs at 9 p.m. CST. SOB is one of three restaurants featured on the episode entitled, “Flavortown Medley.”

“This trip, Guy’s diggin’ into all kinds of fantastic flavors,” the show’s teaser reads. “In Memphis, the bar turned bistro offering low brow favorites like duck fried rice and Jack Daniels bread pudding.”

SOB, run by Brittany and Ed Cabigao, was one of six Memphis-area eateries Guy Fieri visited earlier this summer for taping, all of which have opened within the last few years. The restaurant is considered Memphis’ first gastropub and in August celebrated its third year in business.

SOB is having a watch party with plenty of drink specials tonight at S. 361 Main St. and is encouraging attendees to make reservations by calling 526-0388.
