Neely’s Bar-B-Que Memphis Restaurants ‘Closed for Renovations’

Neely’s Bar-B-Que in Memphis closed Friday, Oct. 5 for renovations, according to a press release from Deidre Malone of The Carter Malone Group LLC.

The owners of the Neely’s locations on Jefferson (the original shop since February 1988) and Mt. Moriah in Memphis, as well as Neely’s Barbecue Parlor in New York, are Pat and Gina Neely. The celebrity chef couple hosts “Down Home with the Neelys,” on the Food Network and has been known to tout their Memphis barbecue connection throughout the cooking demonstration show.

The Neely’s Nashville location is owned by Pat Neely’s brother Tony Neely.

“The couple decided to close the locations while they undergo renovations with a goal of making sure that when they reopen the restaurants they reflect the atmosphere that Memphians expect from Neely’s brand,” the release stated.

Neely’s Bar-B-Que is also not going to be a vendor in the FedExForum or continue its catering business at this time. There is no date set for when the restaurants will re-open.
